What SEO actually involves

Three things decide whether you appear when somebody searches. Whether a crawler can reach and understand the page, whether the page answers the question better than the ones currently ranking, and whether enough credible sites treat you as worth referencing.

Most agencies sell the middle one and quietly skip the other two. A site with excellent articles and a crawl budget wasted on parameter URLs will lose to a worse site that is easier to read.

We work all three, in that order, because the order is what makes it cheaper. Fixing the technical foundation first means every article published afterwards earns its full value instead of half of it.

Scope

What is included

  • Technical audit and fixes

Crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, canonicals, redirects, structured data and rendering. We fix what we find rather than handing you a spreadsheet of problems.

  • Keyword and intent mapping

Every target term matched to the page that should own it, and the format that term expects. A comparison query pointed at a service page is a ranking you will never get.

  • On-page optimisation

Titles, headings, internal links, schema and copy on the pages that already have a chance, before anything new gets written.

  • Content production

Articles, guides and comparison pages built around the questions your buyers ask, written by people who understand the category.

  • Digital PR and links

Coverage and citations earned through material other sites have a reason to reference. No directories, no paid link schemes, no private networks.

  • Monthly reporting

Non-brand traffic, ranked terms that carry commercial intent, enquiries attributed to organic, and what we are changing next month.

How it runs

  1. Month one

Technical audit, analytics and attribution setup, keyword and intent map, and the baseline recorded before anything changes. The fixes with the highest impact ship inside this month.

  2. Months two and three

Remaining technical work, on-page optimisation across existing pages, and the content programme starts. Early movement shows on terms you already half-ranked for.

  3. Month four onwards

Content and links compound. Reporting shifts from rankings to enquiries, and budget moves towards the clusters producing them.

What you get

  • A prioritised technical backlog, with the fixes done
  • Keyword and intent map covering every commercial page
  • Two to six published pieces a month, depending on scope
  • Earned links and coverage, reported with the referring domain
  • A monthly report a commercial team can read

How it is judged

  • Non-brand organic sessions, split by intent
  • Ranked terms that a buyer would actually type
  • Organic enquiries and their source, in your CRM
  • Pages entering and leaving the index
  • Referring domains earned, and their quality

Questions we get asked

How long before SEO produces anything?
Technical fixes move within weeks. Content and authority take three to six months to show in non-brand traffic, and longer in a crowded category. Anybody promising page one in thirty days is selling something else.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody controls the algorithm, and an agency that guarantees a position is either targeting terms nobody searches or planning to buy links. We commit to the work and to reporting it honestly.
What happens if we stop?
The technical work and the pages stay yours and keep earning. Rankings decay slowly as competitors keep publishing, so expect a gradual slide over six to twelve months instead of a cliff.
Will you work on a site we did not build?
Yes. Most of our SEO work is on sites somebody else built. Where the platform makes the necessary fixes impossible we say so early, because there is no point charging you monthly to work around it.
Do you write the content or do we?
We write it. Where you have real expertise in house we interview your people and write from that, because a page carrying a specialist's actual view outperforms one assembled from what already ranks.
