What this covers
The everyday material a company produces and never quite gets round to systematising: the company profile, the product catalogue, the tender document, the conference deck, the annual report, the campaign collateral, the exhibition graphics and the hundred small things somebody makes in a hurry.
Taken one at a time, each of those gets designed by whoever is free, in whatever software they have, against whatever the last version looked like. Taken together they are how a buyer forms a view of whether the company is serious, because they usually see three or four of them before they meet anybody.
So the work here is two things at once. We design the pieces you need now, and we build the system underneath them so the next twenty do not each start from nothing. Grids, master pages, styles and templates in the software your team actually uses, which is more often PowerPoint and Word than anybody in a design studio likes to admit.
Where an identity already exists, we work inside it. Where one does not, we will say plainly that you are paying us to make the same decisions repeatedly, and that settling them once in the identity work is cheaper by the third project.
Scope
What is included
Company profile and corporate collateral
The document that gets sent before a first meeting. Structured as an argument, never a list of departments, and produced for both print and screen.
Catalogues and product literature
Long, data-heavy documents built on a grid and a stylesheet, so a hundred products stay consistent and next year's edition takes a fraction of the time.
Presentations and pitch decks
Master templates in PowerPoint or Google Slides that your team can actually use, with the charts, tables and layouts they keep needing already built.
Reports and documents
Annual reports, tender responses and technical documents, laid out so the reader can find what they came for and the numbers are readable.
Campaign and exhibition collateral
Adverts, banners, standees, brochures, stand graphics and social assets built from one campaign idea rather than assembled piece by piece.
Templates and the system
Grids, master pages, paragraph and character styles, and editable files handed over so your team can produce the next one without a brief.
How it runs
Week one
We audit what the company currently produces and agree the system underneath it: grid, type styles, colour use and the components each format needs. If an identity exists we work inside it.
Weeks two to four
The first pieces are designed against that system, with two rounds of revision each. Getting a real document through the system is what proves the system, so the first project doubles as the test.
From week five
Templates prepared in the software your team uses, handed over with a working session. From there the work either stops or continues as a retainer with an agreed monthly volume.
What you get
- Designed and finished files for each piece, print-ready where relevant
- Editable templates in InDesign, PowerPoint or Google Slides as required
- A grid and stylesheet the templates are built on
- Source files and linked assets, organised and named
- A short how-to so somebody new can pick up the templates
How it is judged
- Whether the next document gets made from the template or from scratch
- Whether material from different teams reads as one company
- Turnaround time on a routine piece once the system is in place
- Whether sales use the deck they were given
Questions we get asked
Can we buy this as an ongoing arrangement?
How quickly can you turn something around?
Do you work in PowerPoint?
What if we do not have brand guidelines?
Do you do the writing as well?
Who owns the templates?
Next
Send us the last thing you produced
A profile, a catalogue or a deck that went out recently. We come back with what we would change, what a system underneath it would fix, and what the first project would cost.
