Branding agency in Pune

Brand strategy, identity and the design system around it for Pune companies, made in our office in Baner by the same team that goes on to run the marketing, so the brand gets used rather than filed.

Branding in Pune

Most Pune companies outgrow their brand before they notice.

A manufacturer in Chakan, a developer in Wakad or a software company in Kharadi usually got its logo when it was small, from whoever was available. The business has grown since. The identity has not, and every brochure, stand and website since has been somebody improvising around it.

The result is a company that looks different depending on where a buyer meets it, and that looks smaller than it is to the customers outside the city it now wants to win. That gap is costly in exactly the categories Pune is strong in, where buyers compare several capable suppliers and credibility is judged before anyone reads a claim.

Branding fixes that by making the decisions once: what the company stands for, how it looks and how it sounds, built into a system your own team can apply without calling an agency every time.

What the work is

Decide it, design it, then make it usable.

A brand is the set of decisions that make a company recognisable before anybody reads a word of it. We work through them in the order that keeps them cheap: the strategy, then the routes, then the system, then the things you actually make with it. The full method is on our brand identity design page.

  • Strategy first

What the company is for, who it is for, and what it can say that competitors cannot. Every visual decision afterwards is an argument for this, and skipping it is how identities end up decided by taste.

  • Naming, when it is needed

For a new company, product or division, names tested against the category and checked for availability before anybody falls in love with one.

  • The identity system

Primary and secondary marks, typefaces, a colour system with the accessible pairings worked out, icons and the grid every layout sits on. The logo is one part of it, and the smallest.

  • Tone of voice

How the company writes, shown with your own material rewritten. Three adjectives on a slide is not a tone of voice.

  • Applications

The things you actually make: stationery, decks, signage, packaging, stand graphics, social templates and web components, built during the project so the system is proven before it is handed over.

  • Guidelines and handover

Written guidelines, every source file and working templates, plus a session with the people who will apply it, so the brand survives the first month without us.

The work

Brand is in the scope of every company on our list.

All ten brands on our work list have brand strategy and identity in their scope, and the same team carries it into their websites, search and social. Four of them, in categories that look nothing alike:

How a brand project runs

Twelve weeks, with the arguments early.

You see the routes before they are finished, because a disagreement at that stage costs a week and the same disagreement at the end costs the project.

  1. 01

    Weeks one to three

Discovery. We talk to your team and your customers, audit everything the company puts out today, and agree in writing what the brand has to achieve before anybody opens a design file.

  2. 02

    Weeks four to eight

Two or three routes, each with the thinking attached and a recommendation from us. The chosen route is developed into the full system, with the applications built alongside it.

  3. 03

    Weeks nine to twelve

Guidelines written, source files and templates prepared, and a working session in Baner or on a call with the people who will use it.

Questions about branding in Pune

How much does branding cost in Pune?

It follows the scope. A logo with a short set of rules is a different job from a full identity with naming, packaging and signage. After a first conversation about what the brand has to do, we can say what we would include and what it would cost.

How long does a branding project take?

Eight to twelve weeks for a full identity system. Design time on our side is the predictable half. The variable is decisions on yours, and we say at the start which approvals will decide where in that range you land.

We only need a logo. Is this the right page?

Possibly not, and we would rather say so. If the rest of the brand works and you need a mark drawn properly, our logo design service is the smaller, quicker job.

Can you rebrand without losing what people already recognise?

Usually, and we will tell you honestly what is worth keeping. A mark people know carries value a better-drawn replacement would throw away. More often the logo is fine and everything around it is the problem.

Do we own the files at the end?

Yes. Marks, source files, templates and guidelines are yours outright, with no licence that lapses and no file only we can open. Typefaces are the exception, because they are licensed from a foundry, and that licence is bought in your name.

Do you do packaging, signage and print as well?

Yes. They are built as applications of the identity during the project, and later as their own jobs. Packaging has its own page, because it has to survive a printer and a shelf as well as a review.

Do we need to be based in Pune to work with you?

No. Being nearby helps with workshops and with seeing signage and print on site, but most of the work runs the same way for companies anywhere in India.

For a single mark, see logo design; for packs that have to survive a printer and a shelf, packaging design. Everything else in brand and creative is listed together, and the rest of what we run for Pune companies is on our marketing agency in Pune page.

The website, the deck, a brochure, a photograph of the signage: whatever a buyer sees first. We reply within one working day, and the first conversation covers what we would keep, what we would change and why.
